Taft FamilyEducation is such a critical tool for everyone. Our world is ever changing, and we must always be open to what might come to us next. It is critical within education that our work is student-centered, and data driven while also allowing students and teachers to be risk takers. This takes educator and community collaboration to accomplish a vision of the future. I am excited each year to take this journey with all stakeholders, and see the amazing successes for all students!!

Being born and raised in a family of educators, I found myself following this same path. I attended and graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Psychology and Elementary Education in 2003. When I graduated, I worked as a para-educator in an Autism program in Boulder Valley, where I found my true passion in Special Education. In 2006, I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Severe Needs Affective Disorders and a Generalist Special Education License. While in my Master’s program, I worked as the teacher in the Autism program in which I had previously been a para-educator. In 2006, I began teaching in a Jefferson County Significant Support Needs 3 program at Eiber Elementary. In 2010, I returned to the University of Colorado Denver, and completed my Administration degree. In 2014, I became the Instructional Coach at Bradford K8 South, and was made the Bradford K8 South Assistant Principal in 2015. In 2019, I became the Principal at Slater Elementary. In 2022, I am back at Bradford K-8 South as the principal.

Axel TaftIn 2018 I married my husband, Greg. He is a realtor. Our son Axel was born in 2017. He is an active little guy, so keeps us very busy. Our angel daughter Zaylynn what born in 2019. We celebrate her by doing acts of kindness in her name, to show the world her impact, even if she isn't with us in person. Our daughter Jovie was born in 2021. She has an easy going spirit and love to laugh with her big brother. We love to be outside. During the summers, we spend much of our time on the water fishing, paddle boarding, and throwing rocks. We are Jovieworking on getting everyone comfortable on ski and hope to be on the mountain this winter. I also enjoy traveling and are excited to get back into that this year. My husband and I have a goal to visit as many football stadiums as we can. We love to cheer on the Broncos!

I am so excited to be back at Bradford K-8. This community is amazing and I’m so thrilled we get to partner together again!!
